Installation Showcase: Confidential Client, Hudson Square, Manhattan
Creating productive open office environments often means finding the right balance between collaboration and individual focus. In this installation showcase, BRC partnered with Benhar Office Interiors to deliver a fast, flexible privacy solution for a confidential client in Manhattan’s Hudson Square district.
Completed in May 2026, this project demonstrates how the right product and the right partnership can solve unexpected workplace challenges without compromising design, budget, or project timelines.
The Client
Operating in the web design, e-commerce, and digital infrastructure industries, the client was completing a modern office designed around open-benching workstations. The space embraced collaboration and flexibility, but as the project progressed, the Team identified an opportunity to improve employee privacy without sacrificing the open, connected feel of the workplace.
The Challenge
Late in the project, the client recognized that employees seated across from one another required additional visual privacy to better support focused work.
The challenge was finding a solution that could be incorporated after the primary workstation order had already been placed. Any product would need to:
- Integrate seamlessly with another manufacturer’s height adjustable desks
- Meet a tight project timeline
- Stay within budget
- Complement the existing workplace aesthetic
Finding a universally compatible solution on a compressed schedule required both flexibility and quick collaboration.
The Solution
Working alongside Benhar Office Interiors, BRC proposed its Softscape Privacy Screens as the ideal solution.
Selected over alternative options due to their competitive price point, 18-inch height, and short lead time, the screens delivered the privacy the client was looking for while integrating seamlessly with the existing workstation systems.
Installed on another manufacturer’s height adjustable tables, the Softscape Screens required no custom modifications and provided a clean, cohesive appearance throughout the office.
Beyond visual privacy, the PET screens also contribute to improved acoustics by helping absorb sound within the open office environment—enhancing comfort without closing off the space.
The Results
The completed installation successfully enhanced employee privacy while preserving the collaborative nature of the workspace.
Despite being introduced late in the project, the solution was delivered quickly and installed immediately following the primary benching installation, ensuring minimal disruption to the project schedule.
The client was extremely pleased with both the finished space and BRC’s responsiveness in identifying and delivering a solution under tight timelines.
This project also marked an exciting opportunity to showcase one of BRC’s newer Softscape products in a real-world application, demonstrating how easily the privacy screens integrate with furniture from other manufacturers.
Whether supporting focused work, improving acoustics, or enhancing existing workstations, the Softscape Privacy Screen proves that impactful workplace improvements don’t always require a complete redesign.
