For Southdale Pediatrics in Edina, Minnesota, BRC partnered with Continua Interiors, e tu Interiors, and the project Design Team to deliver custom storage solutions tailored to the clinic’s specialized workflows. Completed in June 2026, the installation demonstrates how customized workplace storage can maximize a tight footprint while integrating seamlessly with Herman Miller products throughout a modern pediatric clinic.

The Client

Southdale Pediatrics is a pediatric healthcare provider serving families in Edina, Minnesota. Its clinic was designed to create a welcoming, easy-to-navigate environment for patients and parents while providing employees with an efficient workplace behind the scenes.

With much of the clinic’s floor plate dedicated to patient care, the work areas used by nurses, technicians, and physicians needed to make exceptionally efficient use of the space available.

BRC Regional Sales Director Steve Bellamy worked alongside Continua Interiors, e tu Interiors, and Continua’s design partner, BDH Design, to help bring the workplace component of the project together.

The Challenge

The project needed to balance three significant constraints: space, budget, and timeline.

As a busy pediatric clinic, Southdale Pediatrics needed to dedicate as much space as possible to patient care. That left a tighter footprint for employee work areas, where Teams still needed room to manage a high volume of forms, supplies, and day-to-day workflow requirements.

Storage became a critical part of making those spaces function effectively.

Off-the-shelf solutions alone could not fully address the clinic’s specialized requirements. The storage also needed to complement the Herman Miller products specified throughout the space, creating a cohesive environment rather than making the custom components feel like an addition.ompressed schedule required both flexibility and quick collaboration.

The Solution

BRC provided custom storage solutions designed specifically around the clinic’s employee workflows and available footprint.

Customized forms storage was a key component of the project. Getting the specifications right required multiple design reviews and direct client feedback, allowing the project Team to refine the storage around how the clinic would actually use it.

The ability to customize dimensions and configurations helped maximize available space while giving nurses, technicians, and physicians organized access to the materials they need throughout the day.

Just as importantly, BRC was able to coordinate the storage with surrounding Herman Miller components, creating a seamless visual transition between manufacturers while meeting the project’s budget and timeline requirements.

The Results

The completed Southdale Pediatrics installation balances two very different needs within one healthcare environment: a welcoming, thoughtfully designed experience for patients and families, and an efficient, highly organized workplace for the Team supporting them.

Custom BRC storage makes better use of the clinic’s limited employee work areas while supporting the specialized workflows required in a pediatric healthcare setting.

The positive response was evident as the clinic prepared to move into the completed space, with excitement from the Team seeing the final environment come together.
